Botox & Injectables

Dosed to your anatomy and how your face actually moves — not to a fixed unit template.

Botox & Injectables at Johns Hopkins Polyclinic

Our approach

The most common complaint about injectables is not that they did too little — it is that the face stopped moving. We map how your muscles actually work before anything is injected, then dose conservatively and review at two weeks. Adding a small amount at review is straightforward; removing too much is not.

Treatment areas

  • Botulinum toxin — forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, brow lift, gummy smile, jaw slimming and hyperhidrosis
  • Dermal fillers — cheeks, tear trough, lips, chin and jawline definition
  • Profhilo and skin boosters — hydration and skin quality rather than volume

What to expect

Treatment takes 15–30 minutes. Small injection marks settle within an hour or two; bruising is possible with fillers. Toxin begins working at days 3–5 and settles by day 14, which is when we review. Toxin results typically hold three to four months; fillers vary by product and area.

Before your appointment

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand to reduce bruising
  • Tell us about blood thinners or recent dental work
  • Do not book within two weeks of a wedding or major event

Injectables are prescription medical treatments. Suitability is assessed by a physician, and results vary between individuals.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers. Anything specific to your case is settled at the consultation.

Will I look frozen?

Not with conservative dosing and a two-week review. We would rather add a little at review than have you wait months for over-treatment to wear off.

How long does botox last?

Usually three to four months, depending on the area, your dose and how strong the muscle is. Regular treatment often extends the interval over time.

Does it hurt?

Injections use very fine needles and take seconds. Numbing cream is available, and most filler products contain anaesthetic.

What is the minimum age?

Treatment is for adults only, and suitability is assessed individually at consultation.

Your longevity protocol starts with one consultation.

No obligation. A physician reviews your goals before any treatment plan is built.
